First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first impression at the commission was quite different from expected. It is unlike any “sarkari” office. There was small orientation on the first day to really know about what the commission does. The infrastructure is decent enough.
Main tasks
The main task assigned was to scrutinise the incoming cases relating to human rights and to group discussions on whether cognisance can be taken or not. A couple of debates were also organised. In the last week, all the interns were assigned to some research work too.
Work environment and people
The work environment in pretty decent. Expect 30-40 interns with you.
Best things
The first in this list would be the mentors who helped and guided us in each step. Secondly, Sector 34-A has a huge market were you can have real good food.
Bad things
Nothing specifically bad about this internship.
Stipend
Unpaid internship.
Biggest Lessons
This internship was an eye-opener when it comes to cases relating human rights. Read cases which came human small districts of Punjab.
