Application Process
For interning under OHRC all you have to do is get a recommendation letter from your law school singed by your principal and write and application to Mr. BK Mishra who is the acting chief justice of OHRC.
Duration of internship and timings
I started interning at OHRC from 21st May to 23rd June.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
OHRC is a place where one could learn a lot.
The infrastructure is good and the first day was OK.
Main tasks
The main task in OHRC was to observe and be responsive to each and every question the Justice asked us and let me tell you his questions were not only limited to questions of legal nature.
Work environment and people
OHRC had quite a few helpful people and we also had the chance to interact with the victims. It was almost as working int he real court.
Best things
OHRC helped me in a lot of ways like the best thing was that I could really experience what a real court room feels like and the second best thing being that we got an opportunity to interact with the parties and hear to there grievances personally.
Bad things
The only bad thing abut OHRC is that you do not have a canteen there and you will have to walk for miles to get something to eat when your starving to death.
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
The lessons that I learnt from OHRC is how to make a good decision when you are sitting as a Judge in the court and also how to be a good lawyer. The only mantra to be a good lawyer is to know your judge before you fight a case.
