Application Process

The application is to be made online and it is a kind of summer training programme so the registration form is available online which may be submitted along with the registration fee of about Rs. 2000.

Duration of internship and timings

This summer training goes on for about a period of 45 days. There were different timings for different batches and one could attend that was most suited to him.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The First impression was superb. Infrastructure is beyond question. everything that a trainee might need was provided. Apart from this, the Executive Director herself was very approachable. In case of any needs or difficulties one could approach her without second thought.

Main tasks

The training was inclusive of classes regarding the knowledge of the capital markets: basic as well as complex. Lectures regarding the shares, debentures, call, put, options etc were delivered. The functioning and the role of SEBI, the stock exchange,the brokers was explained.

Apart from these, all the other concepts regarding a depository, D-mat A/C, Re-mat A/C, share trading, IPO’s, merchant Banking, Insider Trading and the legislations in force regarding the capital markets were also discussed.

The practical trading included training in the depository, working with the broker’s, attending a live trading session, and the working of the legal department of the LSE.

Moreover, one had the chance to go through the previous as well as the on-going cases to which LSE was a party.

Work environment and people

All in all, it provided a conducive work environment.

Best things

The lectures were great and the fact that the practical knowledge was parted, concepts were clear after the training. The best thing according to me:

Firstly, the teachers as well as the staff members were highly approachable.

Secondly, that the course has good credibility because the certificate of training is provided only after the oral viva and a written test and evaluation of the well researched project that is to be at the end of the training period.
