First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
At first it was very formal but then all interns mixed together and interesting work was handed out to everyone and that’s how the ice break.
Main tasks
Witnessing court proceedings.
Project on starvation deaths in India.
Research on Land Settlement among the tribals.
PIL on state of government schools etc.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very friendly, and the learning experience was great. The coordinator and fellow interns were a good bunch of people with lots of knowledge to share.
Best things
The best things were the court proceedings and the work on starvation deaths. Our coordinator was genuinely interested in his work and his enthusiasm for the legal field rubbed off on all of us.
Bad things
The bad things were not getting proper responses from the schools we visited in order to file a PIL on the state of hygiene in government schools.
Stipend
No stipend.
Biggest Lessons
The biggest lessons were seeing how a High Court operates first hand. Also, the work on starvation deaths was an eye opener.
