Duration of internship and timings
June 15, 2015 – July 15, 2015
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
As this was my first internship, I was slightly nervous as to how I would be able to adapt in a working scenario, but on my first day I’ve never met such chilled out yet hardworking professional reporters before and they were very friendly and polite.
The buildings are interconnected (literally like a maze ) and there is a canteen as well which provides good food.
Main tasks
Main tasks involved were to cover press conferences, events then write and submit reports in a day. The style of writing should be unbiased and informative; nothing more, nothing less.
Work environment and people
As I mentioned earlier, the reporters were friendly and helpful. I got to learn a lot from them, i.e., the art of being a ‘Pro’.
Best things
That proud and should-work-more-than-ever feeling I got when my write-ups were published was the best.
Apart from that, It was awesome working with such professionals and interacting with people at the events was a really good experience.
Last but not the least, got to enjoy free food at the events!
Bad things
No stipend.
Stipend
Nil
Biggest Lessons
Working at this organization, I’ve learnt to do my work within the stipulated time and to be punctual, composed and smart.
I’ve learnt how to write in a reporter’s style and my interaction with people gave me the confidence and zest to do something worthwhile in life.
Any Other Thing
For all the 1st years, working at a newspaper office would be an useful and amazing experience for a first-time internship! Do try!
