Another method is just to walk in the office and ask for internship you will be provided with any slots if available.
Duration of internship and timings
10th May, 2013 to 7th June, 2013
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First Impression: There is no proper guidance to the interns because of lack of staff and already existing staff is very burdened with the existing list of cases.
Formalities: There isn’t any mandated formalities to be done in the court except checking in the attendance register on daily basis.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite impressive because the court building is newly constructed.
Main tasks
The main task allotted to the interns is to go through the files of the cases which were to be heard in the court on the subsequent days.
After going through the files all the interns were sent to the respective court rooms to go through the hearing process of those cases.
Work environment and people
The work environment is not much appealing and energetic although one can seek help if facing any kind of problem during the working hours of the court.
Best things
The best thing about this internship is that in the end of your tenure the Chief Judge in charge of the Consumer court personally addresses all the interns together in his chamber and ask about the knowledge grasped in this experience.
All the interns used to have fun. We have good places nearby to visit and good restaurants.
Bad things
None
Stipend
None
Any Other Thing
It was a very close encounter with the judiciary at such lower level and revealed the reality of the same, with so much pending cases and the rate of completion of cases versus admission of new ones is drifting far apart.
