First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
You are asked to report to the HR on the first day, she then assigns you to a team and takes you to the concerned building for introducing you to the team.
I followed the same procedure and was assigned to a team which looked into mainly Alternative Dispute Resolution, Property, Debt Recovery and Consumer Cases.
Main tasks
I was in my second year that time and was asked to observe court procedures, review petitions and forms, prepare synopsis and list of dates, etc.
Work environment and people
I would term it as a ‘positive’ work environment. Every now and then you would have a senior coming and teaching you something, be it about drafting or judicial review theory.
Best things
Coffee/tea, as you like it. Self service though!
You also get to hang around and explore the city with the lawyers.
Bad things
Nothing as such
Stipend
None. But the work was worth it.
