I sent my internship application and resume to pravin.parekh@pravinparekh.com. They replied in a week confirming my internship.

Duration

Duration of internship and timings December 1st to 31st, 2012

Timings: 9.30 am to 8 pm (7 days a week)

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office is on the second floor of sir’s residence. It was a small office with several cabins. There were two associates and around 10 interns.

On the first day, I was asked to meet sir the first thing and introduce myself.

I reached by 9 and sir,a strict disciplinarian but very soft-spoken was impressed! 🙂 I understood sir was very hard working and totally committed towards the work and so the same was expected from the interns.

Main tasks

Legal Research, Drafting documents, Preparing case notes, rejoinders etc.

Few interns were supposed to got to court everyday if the case we are working on was listed. We had to watch the proceedings and take notes.

Also sir would ask us to do some quick research on a topic while we were in the Supreme Court chambers. Since sir was the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, we also had to assist him in organizing events and other office work.

We could make several contacts and got amazing exposure since we had the opportunity to meet and interact with famous advocates and eminent jurists.

Work environment and people

Totally work-oriented but not stressful. PHP sir or the associates allotted us work. There was never a free moment. But I totally enjoyed it.

We had quality work to do. Never felt like it was a burden. I was in fact eager to take more work. If we had any doubts, the associates would were never hesitant in explaining them.

Best things

I think everything about the office was awesome. Apart from the above mentioned things, Free unlimited Coffee and if you were really hungry, maggi from the kitchens 😀

We had a pantry on the floor all for ourselves. Sir used to treat us sometimes on Sundays, when we could order whatever food (veg) we wanted!

Once the associates and interns had gone out for a lunch to costly Italian Restaurant which was sponsored by sir again. 😀

Over all they gave you the best work and best treatment ever!

Biggest Lessons

Biggest lesson was sir’s attitude about work. Down to earth. His dedication to work and ability to multi task was plain amazing.
