First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Should report on the given time. Should be in official black and white dress.
Main tasks
Main task was to assist my lawyer in arranging documents and visiting with him to different court proceedings.
The second task was of legal research and drafting.
I also learned how to draft a predictive office memo.
I learned how facts are put forward at district court level.
Work environment and people
Patiala House District Court is a very busy court and people around are professional. The environment was good and you could learn a lot about behaviour of a lawyer. A
ll the lawyers were always ready to help you when they had time.
Best things
The internship was very helpful in learning about the primitive stage of Indian Legal System that is district Court system.
I learned all the necessary requirements which need to be fulfilled before starting a legal suit.
The court campus had a big library which was also very helpful.
Bad things
Some times there was not too much of work which was boring.
One had to be proactive to get work alloted.
The food was not good in the canteen and shops there.

Biggest Lessons
You should try to talk to your seniors as much as possible to gain knowledge from them.
Please try to make contacts with your internship coordinators for long time periods.
Please finish the the alloted work in the given time period, that creates a good impression.
Any Other Thing
Internship in a District court is very important to learn about the Indian legal system.
Office Timings
Court timings. 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
It depended on the work load in a particular day.
