Duration of Internship
I interned there in the month of December 2015, the timings were flexible and was mostly 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
First Day Formalities and Impression
The office is neat and there is a dedicated room for the advocate, there are no hard and fast first day formalities, all one needs to do is just be in touch with the associates and get updated on the cases which are being dealt in the office.
Main Tasks
Main task is to accompany the advocate to hearings and keeping a track of the cases, in the evening you will be preparing arguments for the next day’s hearing which will include researching, drafting and coming up with a solution.
Apart from which the advocate takes time in teaching you the basics and asks question which will help you research and learn.
Work Environment
Work environment is friendly and you’ll be working directly with the advocate sitting right with him.
The associates are also very friendly and will treat you as equals.
Good Things
I learnt a little bit of Drafting and it honed my researching skills.
Saw how arguments take place in various Courts as the advocate deals with a variety of cases.
Also, you get to work directly with the advocate with his cases, and there is a lot of transparency in the office which makes you feel comfortable.
