Sent my CV through a friend who was interning there at the time.

Duration of internship and timings

October 2012.

You are expected to be in office till at least 8.30 pm, sometimes you may have to stay even later if there is some urgent work.

In the morning you are mostly called around 9 am to the court where the associate you are working with has his cases.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Everyone is approachable, no formalities as such, you get assigned work within your first hour at the office.

Main tasks

Mostly Research and briefing associates on case files.

Work environment and people

Friendly environment, people are helpful and approachable, till the time you don’t slack on the work.

But if you are given a research question and you slack or tell the associate that you couldn’t find anything, be prepared for the well deserved rebuke.

Biggest Lessons

If you are given a case law research, there is always a case law available.

Don’t ever say you couldn’t find anything.

Find the most relevant case you can find even if it is not the best case on the point.

The associate will guide you from there.

Also before you submit a case law to the associate, check that it’s not overruled, it’s a very basic thing to do but a lot of people don’t realize the importance of this simple scrutiny.

Any Other Thing

The best place to stay if you are not a localite, is Lajpat Nagar, its a 10 mins auto ride from the office, and there are a lot of PG’s available there for 1-2 months duration.

Also you get access to one of the best markets of Delhi, equip with all the eateries.
