Main tasks

FIRST WEEK

On the first day, I was told to visit the court building and noted the types of Courts and post of Judges. Then the senior explained to us the types of Courts, Tribunals, Commissions, other Judicial Authorities and their functions.

On the second and third day, we discussed types of cases in District Courts, High Court and Supreme court and studied about the common short forms of cases as per Cause list from Court-website and made a brief note. Hence we got brief ideas about the functions of courts and nature of cases in all courts.

Thereafter we made a brief note of a few common bare acts, their mandatory ingredients, Jurisdiction, limitations, procedures etc. We also studied Stages of civil proceedings, drafting of IP application, Summary Trial, Local Commission, Succession Certificate, MACT format and other Misc. Applications.

SECOND WEEK

Our senior described thoroughly every Stage of the police investigation on crime-spot in details from police complaint/FIR to Charge Sheet and detailed proceedings of the criminal trial in court up to acquittal/conviction, Order on sentence, Appeal, Revision.

THIRD AND FOURTH WEEK

We have learned the Art of drafting the petition, Specially mandatory paragraphs of the suit.

Common Preliminary objections in Written statement and art giving paragraph wise reply, Art of giving rejoinder, Several common applications, Language of an affidavit and how to write Prayer, Format of Execution, AFT, MACT, PIL, SLP, Succession, Arbitration. CLB, etc. and indexing in Paper-book as well as filing proceeding in court counter.

In the meantime, we are told to note 300 common legal words and their uses in drafting a few legal maxims. We have Discussed on several topics like Art of cross-examination, how to become a good advocate, how to develop the sources of getting cases and improving the quality, personal and legal knowledge. Senior said to read AT LEAST ONE LATEST IMPORTANT JUDGEMENT every day and note them subject-wise in a NOTEBOOK OF LEGAL WORDS.

We have Attended Supreme court, Delhi High court and District Courts.
