Timings: 09:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Saturdays are half days and Sundays are off.
Application Procedure
One can apply by emailing their CV with a short cover letter at info[at]lawofficesofindia.com. If your CV is shortlisted, you’ll be sent an internship review mail and then the further decision of the firm regarding the internship selection shall be notified accordingly.
Infrastructure, First-day Formalities and First Impression
The office is compact yet spacious with a good collection of law books and a pantry. The interns are asked to report at 10.00 am and are provided with a work desk with a computer and other required stationery.
The interns are introduced to the associates and are given the opportunity to interact with the Managing Partner on the first day itself. Once settled, the work starts flowing in.
Main Tasks
The firm basically is a litigation firm so it basically deals with the arbitration, consumer disputes, debt recovery matters, RTI, civil disputes, property suit, constitutional matters.
Most of my work included making a brief of cases, research work, drafting and assisting partners to Supreme Court, High court, District Courts and for Arbitration etc.
Good Things
- The extensive research work helps in gaining immense exposure and knowledge of the arbitration matter, media laws, energy laws, property suit.
- Working in the firm is not only informative but also interactive and provided a very practical aspect of law and its application on a first-hand basis.
- The team is a small one which works as an advantage as for the interns as there is always work on hands.
- The Managing Partner and the associates are extremely helpful and approachable at all given point.
- The senior partners and associates were always there whenever I needed help. The work environment is friendly yet professional and this makes working in Law Offices of India a joyful experience.
- The interns are treated as a part of the firm and due credit is given to their work.
Bad Things
There are no bad things as such and even if any, the work environment and the atmosphere compensate for everything.
Accommodation and Commuting to the office
As the office is near the south campus so accommodation will not a problem. The firm is a 15-20 minute walk from the Durgabhai Deshmukh metro station and there are share auto right outside the station which drops one at the office.
