First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The office is located in Anand Niketan and has easy access to metro both Moti Bagh Station and Hauz Khas Station. The offices is spread over 2 floors with separate chambers for each partner, conference room and workplace for associates and interns.
There is a pantry, which provides with refreshments of your choice like tea, coffee.
The first day I was welcomed by Mr. Ashim Gupta, HR at the firm, who explained to me the formalities, to begin with. I was given a personal desk and computer, although you can always carry your own laptop.
Excellent infrastructure fully air-conditioned and work environment, with good IT infrastructure and internet access. The firm has a magnificent collection of books and remote access to SCC legal resources.
Main tasks
Law offices is a corporate as well as a litigation firm. The firm constantly deals with matters of arbitration, consumer disputes, debt recovery matters, copyright, trademark, civil disputes, property suit, constitutional matters.
Most of my work included making a brief of cases, research work, drafting and assisting partners to High court, District Courts and for Arbitration etc.
I got the opportunity to attend Arbitration proceeding of high profile companies. Work is assigned by the partners themselves, but sometimes associates may also provide you with work.
Work environment and people
The work environment is very friendly and supportive. There are many partners but I personally reported to two of them being Ms. Alkanshree Dhar and Ms. Shanta Raman.
They were very supportive and encouraging, and along with providing work, they gave guidelines on how to do it. Smallest of effort from interns is appreciated from all the partners.
There are 5 associates in Delhi office, who are always there along with partners to help whenever needed.
Best Things
You get to attend many Arbitration proceeding which is an amazing experience. The firm provided with regular work which was reviewed regularly.
Associates are very friendly and interactive makes the workplace very enjoyable. The work which I got helped me build my Research skills and patience.
