First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

I met Sir before the Court proceedings and was asked to accompany him to the court and this marked the beginning of my internship.

Being a person who was just done with his 1st year of studies Sir always took due care to ensure and allot subjects which I could deal with which indeed deserves a mention!

He also told me that to be a good lawyer, one needs to know everything about the legal profession and must be able to do all sorts of work because when it comes to litigation, no work is small or big and our main aim is to serve our client’s needs.

Main tasks

Observe proceedings, prepare notes, drafting of writ petitions and follow up on the ongoing cases.

Work environment and people

The people in his chamber especially the associates were very helpful.

It was under the able guidance of Sir that I learnt most of the procedures and he always took due care and clarified my doubts and taught me new things like I.P.C, Cr.P.C, Limitation Laws, TP Laws etc.

Best things

Biggest Lessons

There’s no end to learning so always one should try and learn in all sorts of situations and be choosy.

Accommodation

Being a resident of Calcutta, I used to travel each day to the Court or his chamber as and when required.

Office Timings

The timings were from 10:30 am-5:30 pm.
