First day:

I reached the office at 9 am, sharp. But as it turned out, the work there started at 10 am. So I was a little flustered on my first day, because I was alone in the office for quite some time.

The office is a well furnished, warm apartment.

The Chambers of Advocate D. Madhava Rao, or DMR Law Chambers as it is called, is a small team of approximately 15 Lawyers, and they are a Civil Litigation Firm.

I was quite at ease once Adv. Raghav came in, who was to be my boss for the month. He made me feel quite at ease, and never made me feel like I had no knowledge of the Law (even though I actually had no knowledge).

Work:

As a first year intern, they did not expect much from me. I visited the High Court over the course of four weeks there, and in addition to that I learnt drafting and did quite a bit of case law research.

However, since I was working in a firm with all practicing lawyers and I went when the Court was in session, I was the only one at work in the morning. The lawyers came in the evening, after their day at Court. It was lonely, but enriching in terms of the knowledge acquired.

None around. It’s a residential locality.

Verdict:

If you can work in solitude and have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and can work with minimal supervision, this is a good place for you. One of the best learning experiences Hyderabad has to offer.
