Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength
Greenpeace, Pune, 20 people.
Application Process
I applied for an NGO internship through the Internship Committee in my college. I was contacted by one of the resource persons at the Pune office for an interview. That was it.
Duration of internship and timings
I interned at Greenpeace Pune from 11th of November to the 11th of December. The internship saw me working at various places across Pune, from 10 am to 7 pm. On some days, we could leave by 6.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On the first day, me and my fellow interns were given the necessary training required for campaigning for Greenpeace. I was asked to submit my pancard xerox and other certificates. I was excited to work there as I thought I would be working directly in relation to the environment and the various Greenpeace campaigns.
Main tasks
My main task saw me travel across Pune whilst campaigning for Greenpeace.
I was termed as a campaign awareness executive, but I was really a person who campaigns for an NGO in the hope of some donations.
Hence throughout the day, we would work tirelessly for the same.
This work was tedious, but I did learn something out of it.
I learnt people skills and how to deal with rejection.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very friendly and casual and the people were quite approachable.
Everyone was a big team, looking out for each other.
However, there would sometimes be a pressure to achieve the daily target, which sometimes wasn’t possible.
Best things
Learning people skills.
Bad things
The internship having little relevance to law.
Stipend
Rs 200 per day, Rs 6000 per month
Biggest Lessons
Never give up.
Any Other Thing
No relevance to law and even research is practically zero.
