Duration of internship and timings
4 weeks, April-May 2013.
Monday to Friday 10 am to 6 pm.
You may have to stay back for longer hours if your work so demands.
Saturdays are flexible. Interns were asked to report by 11 am and could leave by 4 pm.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Since their office was undergoing renovation, interns were scattered all over the place.
There were 4-5 more interns who had already commenced their internship.
We were asked to approach any/every associate for work.
Main tasks
Main tasks involved attending court proceedings, preparing case comments, list of dates as well as a lot of case law research.
Work environment and people
Some of the associates were very nice and were always willing to give work to the interns.
However some were unapproachable.
Best things
Honestly, all the interns would while away their time.
Except the first few days, no work is given to them.
However Fox and Mandal has a huge library which is up to date with all commentaries, journals and books that you may require.
Interns were also allowed access to it.
So whatever scant amount of work was given to us, we could read up a lot on it because of the plenty material available.
Bad things
They had more interns than they could accommodate.
In the last few days there were about 15-20 interns.
