Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength
Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission, Jaipur, 40-50 students
Application Process
Getting internship there is not very difficult.
RSHRC accepts all the applications generally.
You can contact them through rshrc-rj@nic.in and enquire about date and timing in advance and the other requirements they need.
Simply NO BIG DEAL
Duration of internship and timings
Duration – 1month
Timings- 10 am to 4pm sometimes 5 pm.
Internship Program is organised every year by the Commission in May-June.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First impression was not very good as we were asked to reach in office at 10 am and we waited for them for around two hours.
Then we met our instructor Deepa Jain Mam who is a officer working under Rajasthan state government.
We were asked to fill a registration form along with Letter Of Recommendation from the College.
We were treated very nicely and the conference room was a big one fully air conditioned situated in State Secretariat.
Main tasks
Regularly we were told about the functioning of State Human Rights Commission (RSHRC) from various officers of the Commission.
We visited many NGOs and police Stations and were explained their functioning.
In Starting itself we were divided into several groups and assigned to work on a group project.
We were given various lectures from the many professors of Rajasthan University and few politicians and various representatives of NGOs and some of retired high court judges.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very friendly and our instructor was very friendly and liberal.
Though she didn’t interact with us daily but she was a very qualified lady.
There was one assistant who used to take our roll calls and assist us in other small works.
Best things
Classroom like environment.
Students were from different colleges and NLU’s and interaction with them was very fruitful.
Visits to different places in Jaipur.
Interactive Sessions.
Bad things
Sometimes we had to just sit in the conference room and do nothing which was very boring.
Stipend
No
Biggest Lessons
Information about other colleges when interacting with fellows.
Very interactive and informative sessions with many dignities.
Practical experience of visiting: Jail, Police Stations and NGOs.
Any Other Thing
I think first year students should definitely do a internship in RSHRC who lives in Jaipur or in Rajasthan.
