About the Organizer

Studio Nilima is an action-based research collective working at the intersection of law, governance and society based in Guwahati, Assam. Inspired by the life of Nilima Dutta, we bring together lawyers, thinkers, academics, artists and students to engage with contemporary issues from Northeast India, specifically Assam.

About the Blog

Studio Nilima is now accepting articles for its blog. We invite original pieces on topics which are aligned with the goals of the Studio, these range from law & governance to the arts. We are interested in conversations about the people and politics at the periphery such as:

  1. The Criminal Justice system’s interaction with the marginalized
  2. Art’s relationship with politics
  3. Right to death and the power of life
  4. Ideas on Prison reforms
  5. Food justice
  6. Technology’s relationship with the marginalised and the poor
  7. The Assamese identity
  8. The NRC debate

  • Range of Article: 500-1000 words
  • Formatting guidelines: Hyperlink sources, Times New Roman, Size 12 pt, Line spacing 1.5.
