About SPIL
It is an increasingly integrated world with growing trans-national interactions, the significance of International Law has never been greater. We, at SPIL Mumbai, strive towards taking legal studies to an empirical level and promoting law as an area of inquiry and study far beyond the realms of classrooms.
This student-based organization has successfully organized several events, including a lecture on the working of the International Criminal Court by Professor William Burke-White of the University of Pennsylvania, a Model United Nations – Student Exchange Program with students of the School of International Relations, Tehran and the Government Law College International Law Summit- which is held annually, in the month of March.
SPIL Mumbai also regularly organizes workshops on the basics of International Law, which have an overwhelming response from Law students across colleges and holds various Debates, Legal Paper Presentations and Intra-College International Law Competitions.
About JDC
The Judgment Deliberation Competition (JDC) expects participants to arrive at a judgment, after analysis of facts and arguments presented from both the sides. A novel competition, the JDC has been inspired by the procedures of various judicial bodies and tribunals that span the spectrum of international law.
It involves students coming together to have a careful discussion on the given problem in order to arrive at an appropriate judgement. Students conduct extensive research and justify their views, before arriving at a judgement.
Date and Venue
The Judgment Deliberation Competition will be held on 6th and 7th March 2020 at Government Law College, Mumbai.
