Application Process
In order to get an internship at RLEK, I e-mailed my Resume along with Cover Letter on the e-mail id of the organization i.e. rlek.org@gmail.com and frequently made phone calls on their contact no. as provided on the website.
Duration of Internship and Timings
4 weeks. 6 days a week. 10:00 a.m to 05:00 p.m.
First Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure
The office was full of healthy staff. All the interns were asked to accommodate the conference hall, where we got the briefing of the NGO. Then finally the Chairperson came he asked each of us for a personal introduction.
We were provided a form and were asked to submit the bonafide certificate with two photographs.
Main tasks
Field Work: If there is any strike in the city then all interns are taken, but if its some village trip then you have option and all the expenses of the trip are given by them. (Most probably they take students to Bageshwar, Uttrakhand)
Research Work: If you do accept research work, they have a lot because RLEK is leading NGO and they work for the welfare of the women and child. Research work would be finding case Laws, making presentation for upcoming projects etc.
Work Environment, People
Work environment is very cool as chairperson and all staff have the good support of the city officials and public as well.
Accommodation
RLEK provides separate accommodation for boys and girls in the campus itself with AC rooms.
It also offers mess facilities, the food being good enough compared to the other hostels.
Best things
I would like to say that RLEK is a very good NGO for those who actually want to learn something and are willing to work.
Bad things
Field work is very hard and certificate is given till the date you work. However, the wi-fi is not that good and hence, the work lingers on.

Dehradun is a wonderful city to chill. We want to Mussorie, Sahashatradhara, Forest Reserves of India etc.
