About Organisation
This is a national organisation. It was founded by J.P.Narayan in 1976.
The idea was to make PUCLDR a political free organisation.
This is now present in almost every state of India.
It celebrates J.P. Memorial lecture on 23rd March every year.
Application Procedure
Our seniors had internship there previous year so they provided the mobile number of Pravin Madhu sir (secretary) by submitting recommendation letter to him we were called from the very next day.
There Father Philip was there to guide us along with Pravin Madhu sir. They are easily available as they work in there office in 204, Nilgiri Bhawan, Boring Canal Road, Near Raja Pur Pul.

16th December, 2015 – 5th January, 2016
10:00 am to 4:00 pm
First Day and Infrastructure
It was good. We were having it in the famous school of area named St. Xavier High School.
It was spacious.
Accommodation and fooding
Since we all were local so we did not require any of them. But for needy it is available in plenty in areas of Bailey Road and Ashok Rajpath in comfortable range.
Main task
To visit slums for survey and helping them guarantee there rights provided in constitution, like Right to food. shelter, health and sanitation.
Visited rainbow home where we distributed gifts to children.
Group discussions on various issues like gender inequality and how poverty can be eliminated?
We were continuously working there every day for six hours.
Biggest lesson
It had changed my vision towards society especially for poors.
I took oath to help them in getting education which had been fundamentally guaranteed to them and whatever I could do for them as good works can be done anytime and took a resolution to help them by saving 1% of my total money spend on myself monthly.
Stipend
No stipend.
Best things
This internship had bring a paradigm shift in my understanding of issues and given me a way to give something in return to society.
I learnt to build relationships and to work for the welfare of the society.
Bad things
None. Every participant was contributing equally and were not giving there 100%.
Best memories
We visited science city, Gol ghar, the famous Khaitan market with our friends which made it awesome altogether.
Any other thing
I personally felt humanism devotion, dedication and fairness in every bit of PUCL.
Recommended for 1st year students.
