Name of the Intern
Anonymous
Name of the Organization
Phoenix Legal, New Delhi
Address of the Office
The office is situated at the 2nd and 3rd floors of building no. 254 of Okhla Industrial Estate, Phase III, New Delhi.
Accommodation
I lived in Lodhi Colony at my relative’s place. So I used to commute by the metro. From Govindpuri, nearest metro station to the office, I used to take a share-auto to Phase III.
During the rush hours, metro is the fastest route to commute by.
Office Timings
The office timings are from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm. But depending on the work one gets, the intern may have to stay back late.
It happened with me at two instances, but even after that commuting was not a problem. Auto-rickshaws and E-rickshaws are always available even after the official hours.
Internship Experience
In the office, all the associates, partners and staffs are very friendly and helpful. The associates are always ready to help with any kind of doubts.
The work which the interns are given must be completed duly and efficiently as the interns are trusted with the work they are delegated.
The best part about the office is that everybody can have unlimited tea or coffee, which proves to be really helpful at the time of excessive work-load and stress.
Interns are made to sit in the library in the 2nd floor, so they also have easy access to the commentaries and legal dictionaries. Some interns may also receive work directly from the partners!
The firm has two major divisions- the corporate team and the litigation team. Interns keep getting works from the both the teams as per the team’s requirements.
I worked mostly with the corporate team and received only few research based studies from the litigation team.
The overall experience with the firm was quite learning and helpful, though interns are sometimes given few clerical and due diligence works. But given the atmosphere of the firm and nature of associates, the working becomes easy.
Application Procedure
One could apply for the internship by mailing their CV with a short cover letter to internship.delhi@phoenixlegal.in
The firm is quick in reverting back to our mails than most of the other law firms of the same stature.
Duration of Internship
I interned for 30 days.
1st June, 2017 – 30th June, 2017.
Stipend
The stipend for four weeks is Rs. 5000, as per the firm’s policy.
Any Other Thing
There is a pantry where interns and also the others have their lunch.
Everybody brings their own lunch because there are not much restaurants around.
Otherwise, one could also order from Swiggy or Zomato and get a delivery done.
Work Atmosphere
The atmosphere of the firm is really relaxed and interns do get some important matters to work upon and learn.
