My Internship Experience

Khemka & Associates a new firm started by Mansha Khemka was  a delightful experience.

There were two Advocates and one clerk excluding him.

The matters were mainly concerned with the Mumbai Taxi Union and their authorities.

I had a great opportunity to learn drafting where I had a computer assigned to me.

Location

Located in the heart of the law offices at 116, Veena Chambers, Dalal Street, Mumbai-400005.

Duration of the Internship

July 1, 2015- August 31, 2015

Timings

Timings of work were from 9:30 am to 7 pm.

Breaks used to be about 30 minutes for lunch and a 15 minute evening tea break.

Advantages

Had an opportunity to mention matters in High Court.

A very relaxed environment to work in and one could get a lot to learn as he would allow you sit for all the meetings with the clients.

The work was a bit less and interaction with the Advocates was to a great extent.

Disadvantages

Firm not very well known.

Things I learnt during my Internship

• Drafting and Research work of the following:- Power of Attorney, Memorandum of Understanding [MOU], Criminal complaint under Section 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, Writ petitions, RTI application and other Legal documents.
• Assisted the firm’s advocates  in Securities Appellate Tribunal, the Hon’ble  Bombay High Court  and various other courts i.e. Ld. City Civil and Sessions Court for Greater Bombay at Mumbai and Dindoshi along with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court and Metropolitan Magistrate and Ld. Small Causes at Bandra.
