Duration of internship

Two months.

Timings

9:30 A.M. till 6:30 A.M. (Saturdays and Sundays off).

Though sometimes one may be asked to work from home, in case there is any urgent deliverable.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office is very conveniently located near to M.G Road metro station. On my first day, I arrived at 9:30 in the morning after which I was asked to wait for some time before I was introduced to all the Partners and the Associates at the firm, which was one of the best things about the firm.

Interns are required to bring their own laptops. Most of the work assigned was corporate in nature. However, the firm also has a IPR division, one may specify at the time of application, whether they want to work with the Corporate/ IPR  team.

Work Assigned

Most of the work assigned was research in relation to corporate and commercial laws such as companies act, FEMA and RBI regulations, etc. Interns are also required to provide updates and make short notes/summary on any new legal and regulatory developments during or around the time of the internship.

Interns are given time enough to complete the work assigned. Associates are also very helpful and always try to make sure to explain the background and the purpose of the task assigned.

Work Environment

The Partners and associates are one of the best people I have met and they would always make you feel as if you’re part of the firm itself. Interns are never shouted at or scolded for any mistake or lack of knowledge, instead, the Associates and sometimes even the Partners explains the mistakes and approach that has to be taken to do the work assigned to you. The office assistants are also pretty good and helpful.

Accommodation

There are a lot of PG accommodations available in the nearby localities like DLF Phase 2, Chakkarpur, Saraswati Vihar, etc. Also, the office is very close to M.G road metro station, so commuting by metro is also possible, in case someone is travelling from Delhi.

Good Things

Good learning exposure, as the team is relatively small compared to other big laws firms, one gets a lot of personal attention. Hence, you get a lot of scope to learn (of course, only if you show interest and eagerness to learn!!).

Bad Things

There really wasn’t anything bad with the internship particularly, however, office library could be little more organised, as are handsome number good books in the office but the finding a book is a difficult task there.

Stipend

Monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000.
