Duration of internship and timings
5th December, 2015 – 30th December, 2015
4 weeks, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On the first day you are told to come in by 10 for the orientation. We were made to sign an undertaking of not to disclose any of the firm’s confidential information after that we were given our intern kit.
We all were given IDs, which could be exclusively accessed by us for being in touch with the associates of the firm for the work they had given. A Daily Time Sheet is to be maintained. We were also asked to submit a Worksheet on the last day.
Main tasks
The main tasks are research based but if there is a due diligence going on, you get to be a part of the preparation of the DD report.
I assisted the associates in reviewing service agreements and did research on points of law, which was required to assist the clients.
My worked ranged from case law searches, due diligences, research ranging from the director of movies to SEBI regulations and even compilation of data. All in all, you can be assigned to any work. Just take it in as a learning experience.
Work Environment, People
The work environment is pretty great at JSA. The associates are really cool to work with. They are friendly, approachable and act like buddies.
Accommodation
There are various PG’s available around here for around 7k a month. Hostels are aplenty here. Check the availability well before hand though.
Best things
The best thing about the place was that there was variety of work to do. I had a lot to learn and enjoy at the internship.
Also if you stay post 8 pm at office, the company pays for dinner and also pays for transport that you have incurred for that night, for me it meant Domino’s pizza and a Tab Cab ride back home.
Bad things
The work pressure. It may kill your social life as there’s just too much work around here.
Stipend
Around 1500/week
Biggest Lessons
Being punctual has its own reward, completing the work on time helps the intern to stand out of others.
