Duration of internship and timings
14th July, 2014 – 8th August, 2014
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The office is at Nehru place, Barakhamba Road and Jangpura but Advocate Manoj Kumar sits at chamber number 563 Patiala House Court. No as such any formality. You will have to report at the chamber itself and sir would greet you personally and direct you for further assignments.
Infrastructure wont be fascinating because its the chamber in court premise. Small space but you will find a place to rest your back.
Main tasks
Reading of files, some drafting, court visits, and mostly clerical works like filing/ collecting certified copies, inspection of files and others.
Work environment and people
Work environment will not be an issue because there will be very few people to accompany you. You can ask for any help at any time. Sir is very young and friendly.
Best things
Good for 1st/2nd year students as you will get a better opportunity to interact with other advocates near the chamber and will have a court experience.
Everyone eat lunch together and in all cases if you are out somewhere, they will wait for you!
Bad things
Don’t go with too much expectation.
Stipend
Nothing as such but you will be paid for your expenses.
Biggest Lessons
Start interning at the outset of college life. These internships give you a foresight of the practical aspects of surviving in litigation.
