Name of the organisation. City
Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal, New Delhi
How big was the office? Team strength?
Its a Tribunal; a governmnet office. It is spread over two floors of a hotel- Hotel Ashoka. The staff comprises people from various departments. However, the interns interacted only with the Court staff, and sometimes, the Registrar’s office.
Application procedure. Internship contact details
I had applied online on the address given on their website. The link is here.
Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings
4 weeks. 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.
Accommodation: how, where, how was it?
I stayed with my relatives. The nearest metro station is Race Course. Once you deboard at this station, its approximately a kilometer and a half long walk to the office. Also, the walk is alongside the Prime Minister’s residence.
First impression. First day, formalities etc.
There were not so many formalities. Madam Registrar was very nice and amicable. She told us about all the procedural formalities. She infact asked the girls not to stay back too late and take due precautions.
Main tasks
Mainly, we were to attend the proceedings of the Tribunal, which started at sharp 11 in the morning.
We would note down the matters, arguments and decisions (if there were any) and leave as soon as the proceedings ended. Apart from this, we had to undertake a project on a topics of our choice.
I prepared a report on the “Telecom Dispute Resolution Mechanism in Various Countries”. Some of my co- interns even got a chance to interact with the Chairperson.
Work environment, people
Everybody, from the Registrar to the office staff, was very coordial.
Best things?
The timings.
Bad things?
There is no convenient mode of commutation.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
There’s no place nearby where we could have had fun. So, we went to the ‘tea stalls’, just to have a cup of tea or coffee.
Stipend/ month
No Stipend.
Biggest lessons
The lawyers who argue the cases before the Tribunal were flawless. The room looked like a moot court room personified. I learnt a few good techniques, which helped me in moot court competitions.

it is not worth of doing internship in TDSAT. if u want a goverment certificate without doing any hardwork then you should go there. there are many bhavans like gujrat bhavan etc where you can go and eat( gujrat was best). no timing issues, you can leave at any time ( i use to leave by 3.30-4pm). good collection of books, that is the only thing which will hold you there.
Interns who are from other place rather than delhi/NCR, they are supposed to be a paying guest or they would give accomodation ?
Can you tell me what is address on which application form is to be sent i.e. is there is any postal address or any e-mail id.
