Name of the organisation. City. Office Address. How was the office?
Senior Advocate, Sushil Kumar
Chamber No. 95, Supreme Court
Comfortable atmosphere that inspires learning.
Duration of internship
July 1-July 30 , 2013
Sent an email to the id of Associate Adv. Aditya Kumar at adiikumar@hotmail.com and called at their chamber for confirmation and follow up.
5 or 6 days a week depending on conferences and drafting work. from morning 10 A.M. to evening 5 P.M.
Since Sushil Sir regularly travels outside Delhi for matters at Various High Courts, I did not get to meet him personally for first 2-3 days.
But the rest of the associates helped me out with the gate pass and gave me items to watch in the court and encouraged me to observe each courtroom and watch the proceedings.
Main tasks
Basically the internship revolved around 3 main tasks : the first one was to observe all the matters in which sir and other associates appeared in, secondly to attend conferences and make useful notes and last but not least help in drafting SLP’s or helping in research work.
Work environment, people
Not only Sir but every single person in the office was down to earth, giving me tasks that were not too difficult and helping me carrying it out. There were also a number of people associated with Sushil Sir and the office such as Adv. Sanjay Jain (A.O.R), Adv. Sudarshan Singh Rawat (Counsel for U.O.I) and several others, this ensured that I witnessed a variety of matters and learnt drafting work as well.
The Best thing in itself was to have been given the opportunity to work under a renowned lawyer who has to his credit cases like the Manikchand Gutka (FEMA), the Mukhtar Ansari case, R K Shrivastva (Shivani Bhatnagar) and the very famous 2G Scam.
My interest lies in the field of criminal law, and this opportunity was god sent as majority work consisted of it.
Stipend/month
