Application Process
Go to Spastics Society of Karnataka – get directed to their HR Department and speak to Dr. Hema.
Duration of internship and timings
One month. 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM whatever suits your requirements.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Extremely friendly, approachable. Excellent infrastructure – large campus, good facilities.
You have to get a pass made to enter the campus freely without signing in.
Everyday formalities just involves recording your attendance every morning with the HR department.
Main tasks
Your main task would be assisting the teachers in teaching children with cerebral palsy or other differently abled children.
However, they also try and give you some legal exposure if you’re a law student.
A couple of days you will get to familiarize yourself with the legal issues that people with disabilities face and go to the concerned government offices to obtain certificates on behalf of them.

Friendly, approachable, the teachers you work with keep in touch with you even after the internship.
Best things
The children you work with steal your hearts, regardless of how small your heart may be.

Biggest Lessons
I think inherently everyone knows that one must ideally use the law to help those in need, but internships such as this one, reinforce that idea and starts to get you thinking beyond just corporate law.
