5th June, 2016 to 27th June, 2016.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first day a flurry of confusion as I could barely understand a word being spoken.
It took me some time to understand the high amount of legal jargon that was conversationally used in that office.
Main tasks
Initially I only read case files and nothing much.
They are strictly civil lawyers and deal with service and civil matters only.
Having not read CPC yet, it was difficult to understand a lot of which that was going on.
But later on, I did do some research work and minor drafting work.
Work environment and people
The associates were extremely helpful and accommodating
They often checked up on me and made sure that I was leaning things.
They constantly encouraged me to ask them questions and promoted any discussions pertaining to law.
Best things
The encouragement to do best and be sincere in my work was given to me a plenty.
They were always ready to answer and explain anything that I did not understand.
It was promoting atmosphere.
Bad things
The main office was being renovated so everything was cramped in a small rented hall. It made things extremely congested.
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
For the first time, I got see the lawyers in action. It was an eye opening experience and cleared many of my misconceptions and myths about the field of litigation.
Accommodation
I rented a a small room. It was a bad decision on my part on my part as I was either boiled or roasted depending on the humidity of the weather.
Office Timings
Morning 8 to indefinite. The timings were strict but reasonable excuses were entertained.

India Today law school rankings have just been released.

But several colleges available in CLAT are not listed. This is very confusing for students and parents.
