How big was the office? Team strength?
Office size was comfortable.
The team strength was 3 headed by Mr. L.P.E. Rego and his associates Arjun Rego and Bhairav Kuttaiah.
Application procedure. Internship contact details.
One can send in an e-mail to Mr. Arjun Rego or can give in a call and apply.
Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings.
The duration was from Monday to Saturday.
The timings were from 10:00 to 6:00.
If there was work left at the end of the day then timings would go upto 7:30.
Accommodation: how, where, how was it?
I did not have to worry about accommodation as I am put up in Bangalore.
First impression. First day, formalities etc.
The first impression was excellent. Mr. L.P.E. Rego and his associates ensured that the first day was fruitful and productive. Mr. L.P.E. Rego who is the head of the team made sure that the interns got his time and attention despite his busy schedule.
The day was spent teaching us and introducing us to the nature of work and briefing on the work that would be given to the interns.
Mr. L.P.E. Rego spent more than an hour on the first day by personally sitting and teaching us different aspects and procedures of law.
Mr. Arjun Rego who is the associate made sure that the interns thoroughly understood the basics of procedural laws and litigation before giving us the work.
Main tasks (in detail)
The main task included assisting the advocates to the City Civil Courts, Magistrates Courts, Family Courts and the High Court.
Other tasks given to the interns were searching for case laws, assisting in drafting of suits, affidavits, notices etc.
Work environment, people
Work environment is absolutely friendly and any intern would find interning at this office a fruitful experience. Rego and Rego Advocates is an excellent place to intern for any student willing to learn. Mr. Arjun Rego is very friendly, polite and approachable and is always willing to teach and help.
He is definitely the smarter lawyers and is an absolute genius. It was an honor working with him. Mr. L.P.E. Rego is a perfect example of a man being humble and down to earth despite the brilliance and experience he possess. One can absolutely look upto him as a role model.
Best things? (Nothing is all bad)
It was a wonderful experience to intern at Rego and Rego Advocates.
Firstly, the amount of learning that took place during the tenure of the internship was vast. For example, we interns were given a set of hypothetical questions every week which dealt with different aspects of law.
After solving the questions, Mr. Arjun Rego would personally sit with us and discuss the answers.
I, as a first year student, learnt way more than my batch-mates at the end of the internship. Second, the interns were treated with a lot of patience. Any doubts or questions were immediately answered. Third, work was always given to keep us occupied.
Bad things? (Nothing is all good)
Bad things were absolutely nothing.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
My co-interns were my friends from law school so it was easy to get along and have fun. Mr. Arjun Rego and Mr. Bhairav Kuttaiah are very friendly and made sure we had a good time interning. We were taken out for lunch once in a while and the associates are quite informal outside the capacity of work.
Stipend/ month
NIL.
Anything else you’d like to tell
I recommend this firm to every law student interested in litigation and keen on learning, to intern here because this will definitely be the one of the better internships you can ask for.
Biggest lessons
Patience is always rewarding. That was one of the biggest lessons I learnt from Mr. L.P.E. Rego and Mr. Arjun Rego.
