First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

All the interns are accommodated in a hall where lectures are conducted. We were introduced with what are human rights and what are the main functions of RSHRC.

Main tasks

Attending lectures from eminent personalities, who have contributed significantly towards development of human rights nationally and internationally. Visiting police stations, central jail, etc. to understand the lacunae in implementation of laws.

Interns were formed into groups of 4-5 people and each group was given a topic related to human rights for an exit presentation. The best part was that the exit presentation was a kind of competition, where the best team was awarded.

Work environment and people

People were helpful and they gave us an insight about the human rights functionaries in India. We came to know how important human rights are to us.

Best things

There were around 50-60 interns, so it was a great interactive internship. I learnt a lot there. Visiting the central jail of Jaipur was one in a lifetime experience.

Our team got the best presentation award, so it was one of the best things for me during the internship.

Bad things

It was good, so no bad things as such.

Whichever field of Law I might choose as my career option I would never forget to contribute to the society by safeguarding rights of those who barely know.
