How big was the office? Decently big, around 10-15 associates.
Application procedure: I got the internship through college internship committee, but they aren’t very strict with internships. Details can be found if you Google the firm.
Duration/timings: 4 weeks, 9 30 AM – 7 PM
First impression: Typical litigation firm. Lots of work, but the associates seemed (and actually were) very helpful. We were firstly required to fill in all our details in a register at the reception, and asked to go through files which we could read and ask the associate in charge if he/she needed any help.
Main tasks: The work at Parekh and Co. was typical, research work, proof reading, making a list of dates, pretty usual. The firm deals with a variety of cases, so it was expected to be researching on a criminal matter along with an environmental one. If the associates like your work, it is also natural for them to specifically ask for you.
Work environment: The associates were helpful and ready to teach, and were genuinely nice to us. And luckily, all of us co-interns too bonded pretty well as a group. It seems a very nice place to finally settle down to work in, even though the workload with each associate is pretty big.
Best things: The associates and the work, there was always something new to do, and people were ready to teach.
Bad things: The number of interns at the same time (even though I heard that it was an one off thing), because of the sheer number of interns, we weren’t as busy as we would be expected to be.
Stipend/ month: None
