We first approached our Principal with a application for granting us to do internship at the above organisation. Then we approached to The Secretary of the forum with the application letter and requested him to enrol us for their internship programme.

Duration of internship and timings

2 weeks

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

On our first day, we first met The Secretary. After knowing our names and a few things about our college, he led us into the court room where proceeding was about to start. We entered and sat on the chairs as directed by The Secretary.

After waiting a while, the proceeding began at 11 AM sharp. The President with two other Members of the commission enter and sat on the dais.

After that the proceeding began, and The President and he other two Members went through each case one by one.

Main tasks

Our main task was to learn about how quick the consumers and getting their grievances solved. So we went to through of the case files and got to learn about the case, it’s facts and all.

Work environment and people

The court room was well decorated with ACs fitted. Staffs and other lawyers were very friendly and also were willing to share their experiences of different cases hey have taken up till now.

Best things

Best thing about interning at Consumer forum is that one gets to know about all the right one enjoys as a consumer.

We got aware about our rights, as well as got enough knowledge so that it will help us if we get into practice as a lawyer.

Bad things

Only thing is that the arguments were not clearly audible to us as the court room was very big and there was no mice installed.

Stipend

This was an unpaid internship.

Biggest Lessons

As we know, we all are consumers. Consumer forums work as a keeper of interest of consumers. If in any field, we receive bad services, or buy any defective product, consumer forums are always there safeguard our rights and interests.
