The office was quite spacious and there were approximately 18-20 associates lawyers.

I applied through usual process on the email id of Mr. Haresh Jagtiani i.e. hmj@oasisadvisory.com and within 4-5 days and I got a reply.

3 Weeks – 10 am to 6:30 pm

Accommodation: how, where, how was it?

I stayed at Charni Road, Mumbai and we were 4 friends so we took a flat on rent for a month but for easy accommodation in Mumbai, one can prefer Sewa Niketan in Bhaykhala. It is easy accessible and available at cheaper rates.

First impression. First day, formalities etc.

On the very first day, I had astonishing experience and was really impressed seeing the office and work culture of the firm. I was also given good work on first day itself (though, I had no interest in any electricity matter). There was no formalities as such.

At Oasis Counsel & Advisory they maintain a register of interns for the purpose of attendance and secondly our head of intern introduced us with Mr. Haresh Jagitiani, A Senior Advocate of Mumbai High Court. Overall, it was a good experience on the first day.

Main tasks

There is no such rule that only you have to work only under one associate.

You can be allotted work by anyone but one thing which I found quite surprising was that every work was coming through our head of interns (at least for me and some of my colleagues).

They first told it to Ma’am and then she told us to do that.

Apart from it, all interns were supposed to do an extensive research on one topic, which will be presented in form of presentation at the end of internship and all the associates and Mr. Jagitani will also sit to comment on it.

Work environment, people

The work environment was also good. All the associates were quite friendly and one can easily settle in there.

Best things? 

Best things about the internship at Oasis Counsel & Advisory were: the quality of work, reasonable timings and friendly environment and associates.

Most importantly, the stipend!

Bad things?

Bad thing was that I was not allotted substantial corporate work. My field of interest was corporate and commercial and on the first day, I came to know that the firm has separate department for corporate work and I had to work for litigation department.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues

I chilled out with my friends and colleagues mainly at Marine Drive. We used to hang out in the night after 11. We also went for the trip at Khandala, Lonavala on a weekend.

Stipend / month

They do provide you stipend but I suppose it is not fixed. Depends upon your performance and time limit!

Biggest lessons

I would suggest that anyone who wants to intern here, apply accordingly. Under litigation sector, work quality is good.
