Application Process
I actually applied by submitting my application directly in their office. Details about the internship can be found on the official website.
Duration of Internship and Timings
6th January, 2015 – 27th January, 2015
First Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure
The infrastructure was quite okay for a Government office And as a plus point the office has library too.
The first impression was good , our coordinators were welcoming.
The first day formalities consisted of a tour of the building and understandings the basic working of the commission plus allotment of our fields.
I was allotted in legal cell.
Main Tasks
As my field was legal work, the main tasks of my work was to study cases and also forming a report.
Later I was given the task to study the applications that were submitted by different NGOs which required funds for conducting legal awareness programs. Here my work was to decide whether the application is good enough to get accepted for the funds.
Work Environment and People
The work environment was quite awesome. We were given enough time to complete our work before it was checked by the coordinator and submitted plus we were allowed plenty of time to do research in the office library, which by the way had too many awesome books.
My co-interns were very helpful as well as were other members of the office.
Best things
One of the best things was we were given one complete hour as lunch break. There was library to spend free time if we had no work on any particular day.
Bad things
One of the bad things was that sometimes we were not provided with any work to do, so we had to spend whole day free. And moreover there is poor sanitary system in the office.
Stipend
No stipend
Biggest Lessons
I learnt how to deal with loads of work in a specified time and how time can be managed to do multitasks.
