Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength
Justice Anil Kumar, Lucknow Bench, Allahabad High Court.
Application Process
I applied through personal contact but still I had to comply with formal requirements of submitting an application and recommendation letter in office of Registrar.
One can apply through placement cell of the college by just mentioning the court because generally you cannot specify the judge.
Duration of internship and timings
21 days. I had to go to court on all working days.
The timings were generally 9:00-3:00 but strictness was just regarding to time when one is suppose to reach the court, because he believed entering the court after Judge has arrived is against court etiquette and impression cannot be compromised.
We can go back once the proceedings are over.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
My grandfather who is also a High Court Judge introduced me to him.
At first he appeared to me as very serious person because of which I got a bit nervous, but later I found out that he also has a very good sense of humor.
He asked me to meet me in his chamber after a while. He asked what all subjects I have studied so far. He asked to keenly observe the court proceedings.
Main tasks
Sir asked me to observe the court proceedings and make notes of issues. He asked to me to write reasons for rejecting or allowing few bail applications which were there in his court.
After reading them he use to tell me about its correctness and his reasoning for it. It was a good challenge to get them correct.
Work environment and people
There are very limited people who work under one Judge and personal interaction with all them is not needed.
You must have good interaction with the P.A.because he is the one who gives files to read and supplies other materials.
Best things
Observing court proceeding properly for first time was great fun. Personal interactions with Sir were very valuable.
Bad things
Sometimes the court proceedings use to get very monotonous. I had all the facilities because of my grandfather but it can be difficult for those who do not know anyone.
They might face little problems so as to where should one sit, place of eating lunch etc.
Stipend
No stipend
Biggest Lessons
One must have a good impression before the Judge and as such strictly observing the court etiquette is a must.
