Duration of internship and timings
June 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On my first day, I met the junior partner of the firm who assigned me my associate from whom I was supposed to take work from.
My first impression of the work going on in the firm was that ” so quickly work is conducted in a corporate law firm”
Main tasks
This place was a proper corporate law firm.
As in June the courts were closed, major work given to me was due diligence. The firm basically specializes in company law matters, taxation matters, compliance and IPR so you could get to work on any matter.
A very good thing about this firm was they gave drafting work to interns.
Drafting work was related to arbitration agreements, appointment letters of key managerial personnel among others.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very professional. The associates were very friendly.
The firm treated interns with respect.
As they dont take many interns, each intern was given a separate cubicle which was situated with the associates.
The worker would collect everyone’s lunch in the morning and would serve it hot in the afternoon and everyone including the associates and partners would have lunch together.
Best things
For me it was “a near associate experience “
Bad things
No bad things
Stipend
Performance based stipend ranging from Rs. 2500 – Rs. 5000
Biggest Lessons
Working at a corporate law firm is a challenging work.
Overall Rating
8
Accommodation
I reside in Delhi but the firm is located in East of Kailash which not even 5 minutes away from the Kailash Colony Metro Station.
Out station students can easily find pg’s at and affordable price in Amar Colony.
Office Timings
Office timings were from 10-6 and weekends were off.
One could come around 11 and could not leave before 6.
One has to be regular.
