One has to visit the office to know for the vacancy either in summer or winter slots. They inform and accordingly give dates and ask for a C.V, two Passport size photo and a recommendation letter from the Principal of the college.

They intimidate by sending the internship offer letter at the given email id.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office is huge and looks marvelous. there was no strict instruction to wear uniforms but Identity cards were a must. We reported to Mr. B R Rout the Law Manger of IOCL and our Internship Coordinator Mr. Mohd. Sohaib, the Law Officer.

We were asked about basics of contract on the first day and we were required to write all that we know about how to set up a petrol pump or LPG outlet.

Main tasks

We were required to read the case files and then at the end of the day sir used to ask us questions based on it. we were given a brochure to read which was going to be my project with the title- Selection of Dealers for Regular Or Rural Retail Outlet.

Work environment and people

Both B R Rout Sir and Sohaib Sir were amiable and were very responsive at any stage where we had a doubt with a lot of patience.

Best things

The office was located at a prime location of the city making transportation, accommodation and food facility easy.

We were even allowed to leave after taking lunch at the canteen.

Bad things

There was some delay while receiving the certificate.

Biggest Lessons

Submission of the project on time, punctuality, manners and etiquette are noticed by the authorities which leaves a remark about the intern.

Accommodation

PG’s are available in abundant nearby the office at Patia. Since I am studying in Bhubaneswar I was staying at my college hostel.

Office Timings

11 AM to 2:30 PM. In case due to some unavoidable problem we were late it was considered but not on daily basis.
