June 2015

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Not so much of formalities. You should be in formal dress. And report on time.

Main tasks

The first main task was to study FIR copies and make there brief in English.

Sometimes we also used to listen to the problem of clients generally poor and backward people as the task of the NGO was to give legal help to the needy ones, who cannot afford any lawyers.

Also visited to the Jharkhand High Court to see court proceedings.

Went to attend meetings of different NGOs which had discussion on different policies of public policy.

Work environment and people

The work environment was very friendly. And everyone was very helpful. Any one the members can be accessed very easily. The main coordinator Mr Ahmad Raza is very helpful.

Best things

Got to the learn the practical part of the knowledge that we acquire in college. Came across the fact that how many people are still deprived of legal help. The situation is very bad.

Came to understand the court proceedings and formalities of a court of law.

Bad things

Sometimes there was not to much of work so it was boring.

Also the campus is a little small and there are not good places nearby to hang out and have food etc.

Stipend

No stipend.

Biggest Lessons

You have to be proactive to get work alloted to you.

All the tasks should be done on the time alloted that you create a good impression over your co-interns and internship coordinator.

Any Other Thing

Always try to be serious during internship so that you can learn.

Accommodation

As the internship office was situated in my hometown I used to do updown daily. But one can pgs easily if required as it is a developed area.

Office Timings

10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Timings are relaxed if there is any necessary work.
