First impression, First day formalities, Infrastructure

My first impression of the place was that since I didn’t know much about law, I would be scolded at frequently.

But in the office, everyone was welcoming and whenever I faced any difficulty, they would help me to sort them out.

They have their office at one of the old commercial buildings in Fort.

Since Fort is an old area of Mumbai, the infrastructure of the building where the office was situated was not overwhelming, but the company made sure that their office is comfortable and provided us all the amenities.

Main Tasks

Drafting and appearances in the District Consumer forums were the main tasks assigned to me.

In the forums, I could file affidavits, written statements, written arguments, application for extension of time etc.

Additionally I would be told to research for case laws pertaining to a certain aspect.

Work environment, People

Work environment in the office was comfortable.

As I said, all the amenities were provided in the office. The environment boosted learning. People were also very kind and helpful in the office.

Best Things

We were provided our own desktops where we could work. We also had a Wi-fi connection to help us research.

Bad Things

The building is very old. Hence basic amenities like washroom and canteen were very poor. The office was also too small to have its own washroom. Hence these used to be the major problems.

Stipend

No stipend. Certificate was given.

Biggest Lessons

Drafting, Legal Research, Confidence during appearances, Courtcraft, Legal Knowledge and its application.
