Internship Duration
2nd July, 2018 to 30th July, 2018
How to apply
I applied in Surana and Surana International Attorneys, Chennai by sending a mail with my CV. Within a week I was called for the interview to the office. I had three rounds of interviews by the heads of various department. Next day morning I received a mail from them, and I got the corporate team which was my first preference too.
First day formalities
I joined on 2nd July, 2018 and was given the access to workplace, system and an internal e-mail id. My senior was Mrs Sowmya Mahadevan.
The first day I was asked to read about a few judgments and some research work to be done.
Main tasks
I was asked to prepare client queries regarding property matters, matrimonial matters and reviewing software agreements for the client.
I was also given a lot of research work relating to the Defence sector and procurements, MSME Act, E-contracts and so on. I also got to attend a monthly meeting of my team which is a regular thing and I was also included for this month and got an opportunity to share my learning experience with my team.
It is also mandatory to send your daily work report to your senior as a mail at the end of the day before you leave and also all the work you were assigned needs to be completed and mailed to your senior.
The office timings were from 9 a.m to 7 p.m which is inclusive of a tea-break of 15 minutes in the morning, a lunch break of 30 minutes and an evening tea-break of 15 minutes. If u had more work you could either arrive a little early as the litigation team reaches by 8 a.m and also stay a little late in the evening.
I would suggest one should surely intern at this place to know how a firm exactly works. It was a really great exposure and a lot of new things to learn.
Other things
The lunch is provided by the office if one cannot carry and also there is a monthly get-together which is a lot of fun on the 3rd Saturday of the month and special lunch is arranged.
They had a pantry which had vending machines for serving tea or coffee.
Stipend
Depending upon your work.

I stayed at my Uncle’s residence, there are a lot of PG’S in and around Mylapore.
