The RSHRC has a very big complex, and I had to report to my internship coordinator Ms. Deepa Jain on my first day.
I had to submit a bona-fide certificate from my college along with 2 passport size photographs.
Main tasks
I had to study the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1999 in order to understand the working of the NHRC and SHRC.
I had to make visits to NGOs, Police stations and Central Jail in order to get an in-depth understanding of Human Rights violations.
By the end of the internship I was asked to submit a 100 page report on the topic “Human Rights and Children (with specific reference to Rajasthan)” and a power point presentation on the same topic.
Work environment and people
The working environment at RSHRC was very friendly.
My internship coordinator guided me at every step of my research and it was a great learning experience for me.

Biggest Lessons
There are gross human rights violations that are happening in the society, and most of them are happening due to the ignorance of the victims.
There is a very urgent need to spread as much awareness about human rights among vulnerable groups like prisoners, children, women etc.
