First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Day 1: really excited as it was my first as legal internship.
Ge was really a humble person and in morning around 7:30 AM he was in his office and asked me to sit and then asked me few questions on constitution that I answered really well.
Then he called his Munshi and told him to give me briefs of cases which were listed for hearing in AFT (Armed Force Tribunal), Chandigarh.
I prepared case notes to brief him and made blunder by making too huge notes which he politely ignored and taught me how to prepare case notes and taught me some provision of AF Act.
After AFT we proceeded towards HC Punjab and Haryana where I saw proceedings.
Main tasks
Prepaing case notes, research on legal provisions, etc.
Work environment and people
He is friendly and really a helpful person…so I enjoyed working at his office.
Best things
Work exposure as I saw courts first time and proceeding in HC and AFT and found it to be really helpful.
Another thing is that I got opportunity to attend arbitration of Justice NK SUD…that was the best moment of my whole internship.
Not forget vegetable soup at Advocate Bar is really awesome!
Biggest Lessons
Law is reading between the lines…that’s the most imp lesson I learned from him.
