Application Process

One can apply by sending his/her CV in National Legal Services Authority office in advance at least 2 months.

Duration of internship and timings

21 days.

10 am to 5 pm.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

First day we were asked to introduce ourselves and then we were told about working and functioning of NLSA.

First day was just a chill out day as we were not much to do except reading the bare acts provided by the office.

Office was not very big but we were made to sit in conference hall of the office with 18 more people.

Main tasks

First few days we were asked to read and analyse the petitions, further we were asked to read different bare acts and work over them by drafting questions which can be use to acknowledge normal person about their rights and remedies available to them.

Further we went to visit different places like Patiala House Court, Tees Hazari Court, Juvenile Justice Court, Child Welfare Committee, Tihar Jail etc. where we got to saw the court proceedings and meet the judges. Visiting Tihar jail and meeting the inmates was a special experience.

Work environment and people

Environment of the office was just amazing and as relaxed as it could be.

Other interns were also very nice and we used to hangout almost daily.

Working in the office of NLSA was full of fun.

Best things

Visiting different places was a special experience and the most important visit was to Tihar Jail where we were shown different factories and the facilities provided to the jail inmates.

We also got the opportunity to visit the mediation center at Tees Hazari Court where we saw the process of mediation Center.

Bad things

We had to do travelling for hours to visit a place.

There was not much work to do due to vacation.
