Name of the organization. City
Nanavati Associates, Ahmedabad
Duration of the internship
1st November to 1st December
How big was the office? Team strength?
Quite a huge office, well-furnished and indeed a very good library.
All associates have their own cabin and there is a separate place for all the interns to sit and do their assigned work.
Application procedure. Internship contact details
I applied 2-3 months before the month i wanted to intern.
I mailed at pranit@nanavatiassociates.com
A follow up is a must. After you send an email regarding your internship just a week later call them and let them know that you are interested in interning with them and they will get back to you usually 2-3 weeks after.
So please be patient.
Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings
They take internship very seriously. All interns are expected to come throughout the 6 days of the week.
All interns have to attend office from 10 am to 7 pm.
Accommodation: how, where, how was it?
I was staying at my relatives hence accommodation was proper for me but there are lots of places nearby to stay as it is located right in the city.
First impression. First day, formalities etc
I was asked to report at 10 am sharp and so i did, i was made to sit at the reception for some time and by that time i quickly examined the office, it was well furnished, enough to impress anyone.
Soon the person under whom i was supposed to intern under came and introduced me to everyone in the office.
She assigned me to read up some laws so that i acquaint myself as i had to go the high court the next day.
The staff is extremely chilled out and friendly.
Main tasks
Since i had opted for litigation, had to go the high court everyday with the advocates.
After that i would come back to the office, read up the case and discuss the same with the advocates.
Work environment, people
As i said, the staff is extremely friendly and sweet.
You can randomly enter anyone’s cabin and ask them any doubts you have, without having any inhibitions.
Best things?
All in all i would say it was a good experience, i definitely learnt a lot.
Bad things?
The only bad thing i found is that everyone’s pretty busy and sometimes they don’t even have time to assign interns some work.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
Well the place where the office is situated is right in the middle of the city so sometimes we all would go and hang out at nearby places or sometimes we would simply order in some food!
Stipend
No stipend.
Anything else you’d like to tell
It’s a good place to intern and quite fun too.
Biggest lessons
Majorly it taught me to keep no inhibitions and talk to people without being self conscious.
