First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

First day I went there, I was told how the things work their by one his associates. Many law students were interning there.

I was told to sit with one associate whose deals with the cases of high court, but if one want to work with associate of district court, he can tell them and they will allow easily.

Main tasks

The main task interns used to do was research work.

As I had just completed my first year, they didn’t gave me work related to drafting, however student of 3rd and 4th year also used to work there and they were allotted drafting related work. But you can join associates in their drafting work so you can learn.

Work environment and people

Most of the people there were very generous and helpful. However the managing director in himself a bit strict. Associates were also fun loving and used to gossip with us in breaks.

Best things

Best thing was the amount of things I learned and i made new friends from other NLUs.

Bad things

We have to go to office even on Saturdays and Sundays.

And some times we have to stay till 9-10 pm.

Biggest Lessons

I didn’t even know to how the proceeding progress in high court and how the Defence lawyers delay proceeding to get extra time.

Firstly they told me the fundamentals of research and finding required citation.

Office Timings

There were no official timing. Have to go to office whole week even on Saturdays and Sun days. On week days timing are 11 am to 4 pm.

And on weekends 12 am to 7 pm.
