Lived at a relative’s house in Andheri East.
Used to commute via local train to the office which was in Balard Estate.
Office Size, Strength
JSA Mumbai is the largest office of the firm.
The firm has around 100 associates working there.
First Impression and Formalities
Working at JSA, Mumbai office was a very enriching working experience.
On my first day, we had an orientation session by the GM (Talent) at JSA, Mr. Zafrulla Shariff.
He guides the interns through the organisational structure and tells them what the firm expects of the interns.
The work at JSA is given according to the field that one feels comfortable to work in.
The interns are allocated to teams which give them work ranging from research on specific questions, drafting, due diligence and the occasional clerical work.
This helps you to work in your chosen field for your internship period.
Good Things
The interns are required to send in daily time sheets which helps them to keep a daily record of the work that they are doing for the firm.
The work is duly appreciated by the Associates who are generally very helping and polite.
Bad Things
The only bad thing about the working experience is that sometimes due to a large number of interns, the work dries up.
So one has to keep the zeal to go and ask for work, rather than relaxing.
Places to Chill
There are quite a few actually.
There is Britania, which is famous for its Iranian cuisine.
There is National Hindu which is good for cheap lunches.
One can also go to Fort which has quite a few good eating joints for varying budgets.
Stipend
Rs. 1500 per week.
